I spent some time this morning at the Microsoft Sync site, and as you mention it seems to want to sync with MsExchange/Outlook (corporate server).

However I did find some links that seem to suggest that there is a link (pardon the pun) with Microsoft Live Mail (a.k.a Outlook Express), which would be more useful with individual/private users See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-live/mail-import-backup-restore  which will allow one or two individual entries to be exported to vCard sets, or if you want a whole lot of entries then export to .Csv files (Pegasus Mail understands Csv files with a little tweaking)..

The trick here would be to get your Android to sync with Live Mail  :-(

Hi I am trying to sync contacts etc from my  android mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy 3) on to my computer. The only solutions I can find require me to set Microsoft Outlook as the default mail client. Is it possible to use Pegasus mail to sync eith my phone

Do you have any detail on what is happening during a Sync? Like is there a FAQ on what to find in Outlook or other PC applications that would be listening for a Sync etc?

Thanks for the reply but no sorry I'm not sure of how the sync process works. I initially tried to perform the sync using Samsung Kies but I have Outlook 2000 and I think Kies will only work with later versions of Outlook. I then tried using Companionlink. I set that up inluding installing DejaConnect on the phone. When I  tried to perform the sync I got a message requiring me to make Outlook my default email client which I do not want to do. I had thought it would be a relatively simple task to use Outlook to back up my phone contacts etc and continue using Pegasus mail then wondered if I could sync with Pegasus Mail and not use Outlook at all.
