Very basic stuff

Hi Jerry Wise

Thank you for your help on this basic query that I had. I was very pleased to read your advice as although I had looked I hadn't in the right place!

So many thanks. It's so useful to people like me with only a basic knowledge of Pegasus Mail that there is help available on the Pegasus Forum.

I would like to know if there is some source of basic information about the layout and features of mail folders. Where can I find what the icons for new mail mean?

Secondly I have a problem with my new mail folder as the cursor icons are greyed and so are not in use. How can I change them so that they operate? Unfortunately I cannot find such basic information under Help.

Thank you

It's a bit silly but I have just found the Pegasus Mail Manual which I have downloaded and  there have found the answers to the first part of my question!

I am still not sure of how to get the mail folder cursor button working

FYI, the manual is included in the Pegasus Mail download.  In a default installation it can be found in C:\PMAIL\PROGRAMS.

As for the greyed out cursor button, I can't envision which button you are talking about.  What window do you see it in?  Where in the window is it located?  What does it look like?

Maybe...
In three panel (Preview) mode there are two icons,
one like "<>" the other like ">>"

I should wonder if tooltips are ON by default
as they give good information about the has been
replied and forwarded indicators.

Hi bfluet and Guy

Thank you for your help. I think that I can now see what was puzzling me. When a folder has more emails than fit on the page then Pegasus provides a vertical bar on the right hand side with a black triangle cursor to manipulate the emails up and down from page to page. It's a bit dim of me not to have spotted this.

One other small item that I am unsure of is that at the side of emails in the left hand column there is an icon for attachments. One is the usual paperclip for multi-part attachments and the other isn't explained in the manual but looks like two rectangles, the front one with yellow and red markings. I see that this is for an alternative message attachment but am not sure why there are these two different icons to indicate attachments. I would be grateful if you could elucidate this one.

Thank you

See Help, Folders (3) and Message status indicators

that contains both graphics and description of each graphic.

You can select all in that window and copy and then paste into your favorite application to enlarge the display size if necessary.
