SPAM Halter is now a problem . .

TO ALL that posted and assisted,

Most of my issues are now gone.  The only one that is not solved yet is the one where an accepted email is still being moved to SPAMHALTER folder, now it is being moved when the InBox is clicked on to open, that is when it is getting moved.  I have gone in and set a filter for that specific FROM field to be moved to it's holding folder which it is not being moved there but to the SPAMHALTER.  Still working on that one.  The other items seem to be holding so far, further testing to be done later, again . .

I subscribed to a publisher on the net and setup to allow those emails to remain in the inbox.  Have now had that same newsletter to be placed in SPAM Halter not once, twice, three, four, five times in a row AND have each time clicked on the selection to learn as not spam, Global whitelist, add to distribution list and any other selection to allow it to remain.  Never happened!!  The only way to keep it out of SPAM Halter is to move it from SH to the folder created to keep them.

Any Ideas?  The only one I can think of is removing the filters and do not really want to do that because it is doing a very good job on other SPAM messages . .

Use the raw view tab and check to see if any content control markings. Is it possible that message is not marked as spam by spamhalter but is being trapped by content control rule.

Once added to while.pml and actually saved and written to drive neither spamhalter or content control should be able to trap the message unless the From: or Sender: are changing each time. Is it possible you have a new mail rule that is actually trapping those messages and the defined action is to send to junk and suspecious folder.?

The Global Whitelist may not and probably is not the file white.pml, but the
file named white-m.pm which should be located in the users NewMail directory.

OR the file WHITE.PM located in the users Mailbox directory.
(the file white-m.pm as descibed above is employed when shared with Mercury)

I do believe that unless certian settings are selected, messages moved via
Content Control definitions may have no indicator humanly readable in the
Raw viewing mode.

Do not see anything that references the Content Control.  Have looked into the filters and there seems to be an added rule at the top of the list under Create/Edit General Rules set . . that is Rule type - List scan; Trigger conditions - @black16.pml; Action - Move to Spam_Halter.  Went in and disabled that one rule and things seem to be normal again.  Cannot find what is in that @black16.pml looks to be empty.

Excuse me, did find one line that had this data;

"X-PMFLAGS: 570970368 0 65536 ASO5I51S.CNM"

that is all that I could find and this only references "PMFLAGS" if this means anything to you?

I moved that one file back into the InBox and before I could click upon it the transfer had taken place to the SPAMHALTER folder.

Actually when the mail arrived about this message being a reply was found in the SPAMHALTER folder yet when I moved it to the InBox it remained there.  That does not happen when I move the Plublishers newsletter to the InBox is immediately moved back to the SPAMHALTER folder.

I have returned that one rule "@black16.pml" back to active because when it was disabled that one NewsLetter from a publisher was still moved.

Did find a White-m.pm, size: 0kb and a white.pm, size: 4 kb AND a white.pml, size: 1 kb.  If any of this assists in determining which one I should look into.  Attempted to open them and my TXT editor told me "BUMMER" locked cannot open.

The white.pm, size: 4 kb, appears to be a list of my WhiteListed addies and is rather long.  The White-m.pm, size: 0 kb, is still locked, I closed Pegasus to see if that would unlock that file, did NOT.  The last one for a report is White.pml, size: 1 kb, is also still locked.

Restarted Pegasus and moved that NewsLetter from the holder folder to the InBox and it was moved to SPAMHALTER as soon as the move was completed.

If you have files that are locked when PMail is closed that could be an indicator of the other problems you have been having with PMail.
The .PML Distribution List files may be viewed/edited via the GUI... the Address Centre.
Similarly the Global Whitelist accessed via the Tools > Spam and content controls > Global whitelist.

In Distribution lists there are the two White.pml and it is empty, the one black16.pml is the SPAMHLTERBlacklist and has sixteen (16) addies listed that I have placed in the black list.

When I open the SPAMHALTER configuration the top check box is always unchecked (Enable Spamhalter).  I have designated my SPAMHALTER folder about 6 times and it is not selected at this time, is this also part of the settings that are not saved like my columns in the preview window for the list of messages along with my row of Icons & Text when set to TXT only that is not saved either?  "Spamhalter training strategy and settings" is set to "Train on classification errors only (smaller database)

 Guy,

Thankyou for mentioning this possibility as I have had problems with the security settings for my access to my PM folders, all of them.  I had reset them to give me full access for my limited user account, just checked and the access to my Mail folder was not given to my limited user, just redid that folder and now am testing and feel sure this will solve my issues.

Will report back a little later after doing some examinations and testings . .

To ONE and ALL that have posted here and given me some guidance Thank you so very much, later . .
