saving and reading problem

My problem is that I save the message I need on a separate folder on the

desktop, but I can't read the messages, it says I need the sw with

which the message was written. When I save there is no possibility of

giving a format as txt, or eml or other.

How can I save the msgs in  HD folder and read them later?

When you enter a file name for the saved message you should also include an extension.  The saved file is a plain text file so logical options are .txt, .rtf, or .doc so use whichever one is associated with the program you wish to view the messages with.  For instance, one my system, a message saved with a file name MESSAGE1.TXT will open in Notepad; one saved as MESSAGE1.RTF or MESSAGE1.DOC will open in Microsoft Word.
