Clickable URL's in incoming email

As an addition: They might even not display as URLs in such cases if the sender chose a formatting (such as black on white without underlining) that visually hides them (for whatever obscure reason). You might nevertheless detect them as hyperlinks by watching the mouse pointer change to a "hand" symbol when moving accross the supposed URL and a popup hint showing up displaying the hidden address.

In the Message Reader, Message Display Options. When this is set to display the 'fancy' options, URL's are NOT detected and displayed as clickable addresses.

When set to display the plain text version as a preference, any URL's are detected and displayed as clickable addresses.

I wish to display 'fancy' emails by preference but i want any URL's displayed as clickable addresses. Am I able to do this?

I am using the latest version of pegassus mail. I use Firefox as my browser but I also have IE installed. My operating system is XP.

From the Help file:  "Pegasus Mail can detect URLs (Uniform Resource Locators), or hypertext links for the World Wide Web in your messages. When it finds a valid HTTP:, FTP: or MAILTO: URL in a mail message, it highlights it by displaying it in underlined green text..." .  This applies to viewing messages in plain text.  When viewing the fancy version you are viewing the HTML content.  If the URL does not have an associated hyperlink then nothing happens when it is clicked.  The work around is to highlight the URL then right click and select "Open selection as hyperlink...".  This will pass the highlighted selection to the OS which should recognize it as a hyperlink and pass it to your default browser.

You can test the functionality of hyperlinks by sending a message to yourself that contains some typed URLs and some links created using the 'Insert hyperlink' function.  You will find that the typed URLs will be clickable in plain text view but not in fancy view whereas hyperlinks will be clickable in both plain and fancy view when "http://" is part of the text but will be clickable only in fancy view when no "http://" is included in the text.  Be sure the 'Rich text' option is enabled when sending the test message.
