I have been irritated several times because a message would somehow mysteriously dissapear from my IMAP inbox in PMail before I could read it. I have finally been able to observe the sequence of events that causes this to happen.
If you have your inbox open, and you click the delete button to delete the currently selected message, then immediately (before the deleted message disappears from the screen) hit up-arrow and Enter in order to open the preceding message, the preceding message will be deleted, and it does not go into the Deleted Messages folder. Or you can double-click on another message to open it and it will be deleted. I haven't tested this thoroughly, but I have distinctly noted this happening on more than one occasion.
The IMAP server that this happened with is Exchange. Fortunately I was able to go into the account with Outlook Web before closing the Pegasus inbox and read the message before it disappeared off the IMAP account. I also use a Linux-based IMAP server, and I think the same thing has happened on that account, though I'm not certain.
I haven't had time to scan the archives to see if this has been reported. I know there has been some discussion about deleted messages unexpectedly not being moved to the Deleted Messages folder. This seems to be a related but perhaps more serious manifestation of the problem.
