Pegasus not finding mail boxes . .

Pegasus Community,

This is to let you know 'irelam' talked me through this ordeal, and gave me the best advice and also assisted me in getting an Archived Copy To Self file reconnected with the one that is presently in use on my system. The feeling is GREAT and a very large Thank you goes to "Irelam" for his work. Without his assistance this probably would not have ever been completed. This problem is solved and one other post I have made about Deleted Messages and New Mail folders were not created when a fresh install was done. There again thanks goes to "Irelam" again.

All mail boxes are still in the same place, nothing has changed, except PM is not loading my mail boxes. It is not even searching for them. When first turning on this morn all went well. Forgot to plug in the power supply on my laptop and the system crashed. Ever since PM cannot find nor even look for the mail boxes. Have had to close down to do some outside work and when returning the same problem is still there. I have 50+ mail boxes. What should I do to get PM back into searching for my mail boxes? The only thing I can imagine is to reload the program. Have not experienced this type of an issue before.

Some additional info: I have read and checked out much of the info provided by "Michael" in "How to deal with crashes and hangs/freezes" without any success.  This morn have done a restore to an earlier point twice, back even farther than when this issue started, actually 6/6/2013 over two (2) weeks.  I have disabled the e-mail notification and check back often, about every hour or two (2) as I cannot use PM to check my email so would not get any notification.

Still awaiting a suggestion . .

Use Windows Explorer to find Pmail.cfg in your Pegasus Mail executables directory. Open/Browse the file and the location listed at the start of the file is your NewMail directory location.  Check that this location contains all your *.pmm and *.pmi files which are your folders.

Or locate and open Pmai.ini in the Newmail directory. Look for the section called

[Pegasus Mail for Windows - Run Info].  and check the entries:

Working home mailbox location    = C:\PMAIL\MAIL

New mailbox location             = C:\PMAIL\MAIL

Of these two files, the Pmail.cfg is the most important. Its content can be repaired by running Pconfig.exe in a DOS command box, or for W-64 systems, use DosBox program to run Pconfig.

Have done the investigation of the PMail.cfg and it only contains I:\PMAIL\MAIL\~N no other information.  The Pconfig.exe file is a 16bit file and will not run on 64bit as that is what my system is, Win7 64bit.  Where might I find 32bit or 64bit?

That second part about the PMail.ini file and "[Pegasus Mail for Windows - Run Info]" entries are there and correct for my installation.  I have my Pegasus Mail installed on a MicroMini 1G card and have had little difficulty with that setup. This all started when I neglected to plug in the power adapter for my laptop and the battery ran down and it shut-off while I was in PM reading some mail.

Because that PConfig.exe is 16bit, could you give me the format needed and I can recreate the entries manually.  OR could you tell me where to find this "DosBox" program?

Email me at irelam@telus.net with the required pconfig directory info for mail directory, and I will create one for you. I just need you to include your email address along with the pconfig directory info, so I can send you it.

Martin.

I shall owe you more than can ever be paid for this offer. If you could give me a sample as to how to do this, it can be done by me instead of taking up your valuable time to do this for me. As mentioned, not a programmer, but; can do things such as this without knowing exactly what is required if given an example. I have the ability to use something that everyone has but do not use, "common sense" has saved my "a__" cookies many times over. I am assuming the info you request is the list of 'type' column for the NewMail folder, is this correct?

I am a nativetexanls at att.net in the U.S.A. My Mother is from Kamloops, British Comumbia, Canada (born there) was living in Vancover, BC, Canada when she met my father a few years ago.  Have been there to visit in 1953 have not been back since. Love the area there and would like to return some day, maybe in spirit after my death.  Oh, in case you do not recognize it my addy is four (4), five (5) and six (6) entries of the above line.  I will need some time to get this together for you as I need to use, (BARF GAG) WebMail in my browser.
