Be aware that a permanent BCC ensures you have a copy of every sent message but does not provide the same functionality as the Copy to self function (e.g. no option to resend the message).

I'm wondering if it's possible to get messages copied to self, only once they are sent and not when they're in the Queue.

Right now, as soon as I prepare a new email and move it to the Queue, it appears in Copy to Self folder right away.

I didn't find anything in the preferences, someone knows if that's possible?

Would it work to set the Permanent BCC to your email address thus effectively sending you a copy along with the original addressee?

For that to work you should not forget to switch off Copies to self in Tools| Options | Messages and Replies, and it might be a good idea to create a mail filter rule that ensures the message is marked as having been read and sent to the copy to self folder.
