Access Gmail from two Pegasus Programs and Two Computers

Guy,

You are my hero today!

When I went into my Gmail account, I found a "settings" option and took a peek inside.

Yes, there was such a setting listed and below that was an option which I have now selected:

"Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded.")

Now I will maintain settings in PMail to reflect that I do not want mail deleted and I will deselect the option for only downloading mail that's already been read since the last download.

Hopefully, now I will be able to maintain duplicates of my mail on both computers.  I had noticed that I can download my mail into my Android phone and still download it again into Pmail on one computer. Now, hopefully, I can download onto both.

I can't thank you enough. Even though I've been a user, and even a computer professional since the mid-90's, the technology keeps changing and it's not possible to keep up with it all unless you are fully invested in that part of the profession, which I no longer am. I have given details here in case someone else has a similar question in the future and finds this thread.

With much gratitude,

Judi  :-)

I need to download my mail from Gmail into two Pegasus programs, each installed on two computers, so I can have all my mail duplicated on both computers.  I'm running Pegasus 4.63 on both.

In the past on an earlier version I was able to download onto one computer and keep the mail on the server and still download them a second time on the second computer.  I can't figure out how to do that now.

I've tried every setting and nothing works. I do not delete the mail when I download it. Instead, I do everything manually so I can delete what I want selectively. So, the same emails are sitting there and should be downloadable on the second computer, but they will not download.

The last thing I tried was to select all the mail in the inbox on Gmail's server and change each one of them to "unread." I could see the font darken up so they looked unread, but I couldn't download them again for a second time in either Pegasus program.

Does anyone have some suggestion on how I can accomplish this?  It must be possible since I did it in an earlier Pegasus program by making different selections in the Pegasus Internet Connection dialog box for the incoming downloables

Thanks.

In the Gmail web interface do you have the following setting?

 Forwarding and POP/IMAP
   POP Download
When messages are accessed with POP
"keep Gmail's copy in the Inbox"

Found using IMAP with Gmail works the best. This can be set from the Google Mail configuration screen. Use SSL should also be active.Set Pegasus for 'non exclusive use' in IMAP profile.

IMAP does not delete from mail server, works great with multiple client (2 or more computers, smartphone or tablet).

Aderoy,

Thank you for your added suggestion and also for giving the details on how to do this.
