OK, thanks! I was considering toying with the settings in pmail.ini to add a relative path to the file names therein but wasn't in the mood for the probable crashes and repairs.
I need to be able to associate a specific path / file to different Pegasus folders; the majority of mail will remain in the default path / files but some folders need to store their contents in a specific location. Any suggestions?
You can add a directory to your Folder list as a mailbox. To do this, open the Folder window and while it is active select Folder > Add mailbox to list. Be sure the "Save the Pegasus Mail desktop state between sessions" setting is enabled if you want the added mailbox(es) mounted when Pegasus Mail starts up. (Tools > Options > General settings > Basic settings).
To disconnect an added mailbox select the added mailbox in the Folder list, right click, select Disconnect this mailbox.
The path to the mail box must remain, not hidden, not encrypted and with read and write permissions. The remember desktop state setting determines if the mounted box is remembered or not or is lost on close and restart of winpm-32.

This is interesting in that it basically accomplishes what I was looking for in another thread regarding copying all outgoing messages sent by any user from any computer on our home LAN. I mounted the mail box associated with my my wife's user name and of course her entire mailbox & folders were displayed in my Folders window. This seems a bit dangerous in that is it not possible now that we both could have access to a message while the other is reading or replying and thus cause some mayhem with the program? I'm somewhat hesitant to use this new found capability at the risk of messing something up here. Can I safely open her folders and messages?

I'll attempt explaining but probably as clear as mud -- I'll use the Pegasus terminology.
I have a single "mailbox"
I have multiple "folders" and "trays"
I need to have the contents of a "tray" within the structure live in a directory other than the mail default; e.g., the default mail directory on this system is P:\Mail and I need to assign the contents of a "tray" currently at mailbox:companyA:12005 to live at P:\12005\Mail.
The purpose of this is to have all mail associated with a specific project live within the directory structure of the project.
You can't do that with the current Pegasus Mail mailstore (perhaps in v5 but that might be awhile).
I believe you could do what you need by adding a directory as an added mailbox. It could live at P:\12005\email and would work just like a root mailbox. You have the option of storing all messages in its New Mail folder (where they would reside as .cnm files) or you can create a folder structure with Trays and Folders. Once the job is complete you can disconnect the mailbox and archive P:\12005. If you ever need access to the email you add that email directory as a mailbox. You can even archive P:\12005 to a DVD then mount the email folder on the DVD as an added mailbox and view the email correspondence.
The only difficulty with this is that it may not be ideal within your Pegasus Mail folder structure. The other option is to continue as is until it is time to archive the job. You then move the messages to a directory using the add mailbox function. You then archive that directory along with the rest of the job documents. That is what I do here.
