white.pm empty

I had (good?) reasons for using non-standard paths, without being aware of any such problems. Thanks!

Hi all,

I have checked (ie turned on) the option "Automatically whitelist any address to which I send mail". The maximum number of entries is very large. Still, after closing Pegasus (4.63 build 325), the file white.pm is empty. Any idea why this happens?

Thanks!

Send a message to someone. Before you close Pegasus Mail go to its menu: Tools/Spam & Content Control  then click on Global Whitelist...  You should see the recipient of the message you just sent.  If not appearing there, tell more about your computer environment by clicking Help then select "About Pegasus Mail"  and click the Info button.  Select all the text displayed, and copy it into a posting to this Community.  We may then be able to help you.

Hi Martin,

This is strange. I have sent mail to two people. their e-mail address was included in the "Global Whitelist". I've closed and reopened PMAIL, the entries were still there. after a while (reading e-mails, moving messages to folders, etc. -- nothing special, just regular things) the "Global Whitelist" is empty again. I really don't know what might cause this. I'll keep testing and let you know. in the meantime here is the text from "Info".

Thanks!

That appears to be a very strange install and paths you are using. That may actually be the problem and both winpm-32 and/or OS system can't find paths or save or update files in the stated locations.

One would  normally expect to see home and mail box location of ..\pmail\mail\wu

Did you, or somebody, run PCONFIG and set paths different from default values? Same for base directory and setup and installer archive exe would never have used program files location unless changed manually or install was done over old existing setup. Default has always been c:\pmail for location and when using that there is no need to alter any paths or run PCONFIG ever on  XP or even later OS systems.

While program files location will work with XP it will not with any later OS versions due to Windows changes and UAC scheme used.
