Hi
We saw an issue last week where a couple of people using Outlook who replied to a message sent from our domain were getting non-delivery responses. The message was addressed to the recipients using a distribution list.
We are using the latest versions of Pegasus Mail and Mercury/32.
What happened is that when the recipients (we are aware of three who were affected by this) use the Reply function Outlook puts the alias in the To: field. The From: field contains the full address.
For example, the recipient opens my message and my address is shown in the From: field as green.man@mydomain.com. Their mail client will have this listed in their contacts as:
Green Man = green.man@mydomain.com.
When they click reply, Outlook is placing 'Green Man' in the To: field and not green.man@mydomain.com
My question is has anyone seen this behaviour before and do you know what may be causing it? I understand this may be an Outlook issue or an issue with their set-up, but I would like to make sure that this was not caused by something at our end.
One of the people who had this issue forwarded me their reply:
From: Green Man [mailto:green.man@mydomain.com]
Sent: 07 March 2014 16:59
To: Green Man
Has anyone seen this before or know what the issue may be, please?
Thanks!

Without seeing all the headers of the messages I'm not sure what is happening, but I have seen an issue with Outlook where it defaults to replying to the Sender: address in preference to the From: or Reply to:.
