MercuryD: bulk configuration of POP3 addresses

I don't have an answer to your question but

you've solved my problem !

My Mercury D started refusing to accept configuration of servers to be polled.

It turns out, MercuryD.DAT had decided to abscond - don't know why...

However, creating an empty MercuryD.DAT seems to have got it working again.

So thanks for the hint.

If, meanwhile, having got my config up and running (it will include SSL connections)

I see an answer to your query, I'll let you know.

I have used unencrypted POP3 for too long, and need to upgrade all my accounts to SSL.

In the past I have used the host<,>username<,>password<,>local_user<,>default method of setting up MercuryD.DAT file, which it subsequently encrypts.  The advantage of this is that I can compile the complete list of all accounts and associated details externally, and import with a single cut and paste instruction.  Bulk changes required from time to time are easy, manageable and not prone to typos doing things this way.

Some accounts must stay as unencrypted, and some as SSL, so the account list is a mix of both types.

My question is: how can I set up the complete account specification including server port numbers (e.g. 995) and the connection method (e.g. "SSL encryption using direct connection" vs. "SSL encryption using STLS command")?

I see no reference to this in MercuryD.DAT, nor have I found any other file that contains the port no. and connection method for each account.

Can anyone help me with instructions how to do this other than one by one using the MercuryD configuration window?
