Changing the IP address of a server.

Once upon a time in the dim and distant past a consultant from our ISP set up out internal IP address range.  For reasons which I do not know he chose to use addresses in the range 200.128.1.nnn which of course not a good idea since these addresses are routable and belong to Brazil.  I have been trying to change to 10.0.0.nnn which is a no routable address often used for work address spaces.  Unfortunately incoming emial did not work.  As far as I know I had the router set up correctly.  I also added the servers address in this range to the SMTP Server connection control tab.  Is there anywhere else on the server where i might need to set the new IP address range and do I need to delete the old one for this to work.  I do have the mail server working on bot IP ranges one for each of its network connectors.

In the past when we have changed mail server we have always given the new server the same static IP as the old one so we have not had to do anything in Mercury.  We have though changed firewalls before so we think we know how to do that side of things.
