SSL3_GET_RECORD: wrong version number

Hi Brian,

Many thanks, that works pefectly.

I am 100% sure I tried that as it seemed an obvious setting, but I know how lame that sounds! [;)]

 Again, many thanks.

 Cheers,

Garry

Hi,

I have just upgraded my old laptop running XP and PMail 4.63 build 325 with a new laptop with Win7 and PMail 4.70 build 546.

I have copied over the mail files to the new laptop, and configured the new PMail so that, as far as I can tell, the settings are identical. I am interfacing to my Hotmail account on both laptops, the old laptop works fine.

On the new laptop, POP works fine, but when PMail tries to send mail I get an "error:1408F10B:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:wrong version number".

Various settings I have tried have not fixed the problem.

(The old PMail still works fine on the same home network)

 Any clues??

 Thanks,

 Garry.

A new implementation of SSL (OpenSSL) is used in v4.70 that some mail hosts require while others do not.   In the Security tab of both the POP3 and SMTP host configuration settings you will find a new option called "Use only SSLv3...".  That option needs to be enabled for Hotmail.
