Checking multiple POP3 hosts is much slower now (in v4.7)

Thank you for your reply and explanation. Let's hope those guys can tell me more, and also that there's some kind of setting somewhere which can speed up this process....

Hi,

I have 6 different POP3 mailboxes to check. So far I've used version 4.63, and it checked all 6 with lightning speed (actually couldn't read the messages in the bottom of screen, it was so quick), but today upgraded to 4.7, and it now takes 3-4 secs to check each... Why has it become so slow?

It is a known issue but appears to affect some installations significantly more than others. The explanation has been that Pegasus Mail is a single threaded app so must finish each process before starting the next. Apparently this is tied to the new SSL implementation in v4.7. I hope one of the beta testers on this forum will contribute additional information.
