This is going to be difficult to describe. I press cntl-L and my 3-pane view dutifully appears. Nothing unusual there. The left pane is the folders within my mailbox. The top-right pane is the From/Subject/Date/Time/Size pane (one line per message). The bottom right pane has the message preview view (f8) or the attachments view (f7). At least it should. The bottom right pane has the view called for (either F8 or F7) but in the upper left hand corner of message pane is another window that displays the text of an email I received in April, 2014, complete with scroll bars!
When on the message view (F8) I can ALWAYS tab into the message view and then press pg-dn followed by pg-up and the extra window goes away. It doesn't come back unless I either exit 3-pane view and come back OR switch to attachment view (f7). When I'm in attachment view nothing makes the 4th window go away. This means I can't access attachment view effectively without selecting the message and hitting enter so it comes up full screen. At that point I can access the attachments because in full screen there is no additional window that shouldn't be there.
Attached is a screen print. I had to remove color to get below the 64kb size limit so it looks kinda bad.
I don't think it is related to my new mail count being > 2000 messages. Believe it or not, I've had a much higher new mail count.
This is a fairly new computer with 16GB RAM that always has a whole bunch of free memory when I look at Task Manager.
Is there any magic I can perform on state.pmj or otherwise to make that extra window go away?
Thanks
mike
