Grey rectangles indicate remote graphics. It is not uncommon for HTML messages to arrive as a bunch of remote graphics. Numerous options come to mind on how to display these messages.
1. Right click somewhere in the body of the message and select "Show pictures (HTML only)".
2. Right click somewhere in the body of the message and select "Open message in web browser...".
As for more global options:
1. Right click somewhere in the body of the message and select "Add sender's address to..." > "Allow remote graphics list". This is a whitelist. Remote graphics in all future messages from this sender will be retreived.
2. In Tools > Options > Incoming mail > Message reader is a setting where you can set the display of remote graphics to occur automatically for all messages. This is discouraged because of the potential hazards associated with remote images. It is best to allow remote graphics only from trusted sources.
Be aware that loading remote graphics can be slow. Pegasus can be unresponsive and display as "Not responding" during the process. In most cases my preference is to view in a web browser because I feel it is faster, more likely to render accurately, and if I choose to follow any links I am already in the browser.
