hyperlinks not working

You're welcome. I'm sure it's an issue with the Registry entries for browsers. Since updates continuously mess with the Registry (worst of all IMO Acrobat which always set's it's reader as default without asking for permission) it could be caused by any browser update.

All of a sudden, nothing happens when I click on a hyperlink or try to open message in web browser. Everything was working fine earlier today. Options > Hyperlinks seems to be set up properly (no change from earlier, when it was working). Any idea what might have happened? Thanks! ...Steve

Have you restarted the PC?

Glitches like hyperlinks suddenly not working or double clicks on attached files stop opening the file are often resolved with a restart.

If that doesn't work than you look at Tools | Options | Incoming mail | Hyperlinks. Switch from "Find browser automatically" to using the command line option or vice versa to what happens.

Test hyperlinks in other apps to rule out a system wide problem.

I've been using PMail happily for more than a decade, then suddenly this week I've hit the hyperlink problem.I hadn't made any changes to the programme or done anything else drastic to settings for months. Now when I click on an email hyperlink, the /programs/PMail folder opens, which is pretty weird. It seems to be happening mainly with complex URLs such as this one (slightly munged for privacy).

I've always had the hyperlink options set to "Find browser automatically" so I hard-wired this to Firefox, but that made no difference, even after several reboots. It's not a system problem as links work normally in all other pgms.

Do you use the most current version of Pegasus Mail (i.e. the newly released 4.71)?

I was using 4.70 build 546.

Thanks! I wasn't aware of 4.7.1 - I've just downloaded and installed it, rebooted... and I'm afraid that the same thing is happening with all hyperlinks.

WIn7 Pro, fully patched.

That was an experience. I haven't fired up IE for years and v11 looks quite different.

I set IE as the default, clicked an email link and the same thing happened -- the PMail folder opened.

Then switched back to Firefox as default, rebooted and presto!!! Hyperlinks are back to normal again.

While I'm grateful to have PMail hyperlinks working again, I'm still curious as to why this weird behaviour would have happened in the first place. I did install a bunch of MS patches earlier in the week, and I'm one of those people who are resisting the Win10 upgrade. Maybe MS were messing with my machine as punishment? ;-)

Or maybe this Windows weirdness will forever remain a mystery. In any event, many thanks for your help IDW. You've just made my day better.
