<p>If you are only going to use the server for sending messages originating from your own computer using MercuryC you can probably leave the domain settings as they are. (You obviously don't own the domains listed there, but as the server won't be connected directly to recipients it won't make any difference.) Restricting access to  network interface 127.0.0.1 for MercuryS (the SMTP server module) is maybe OK, depending on if the program that creates the messages is set to use that interface. To be able to relay (send messages to non-local recipients) you should set MercuryS to allow relaying (Configuration/MercuryS SMTP Sever/Connection control).</p><p>I'm not sure if you actually found the PDF manual for Mercury? It's named man-473.pdf and should be located in the main Mercury folder. It contains a lot of information that is useful if you want to understand how an email system works.</p><p>To get the help system working you may, depending on what version of Windows you are using, have to install this update: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607/de . (The help system will actually be replaced in the next version of Mercury to avoid this issue.)</p><p>Finally, please check logs to see what the server is doing when there is a problem.</p><p> </p>

<p>If you only want to use the server to send messages to local accounts from the server itself it looks like it should work. If you want to use it for actually sending and receiving mail the [Domains] and [MercuryS] sections will need some attention, and you may need to activate either MercuryP or MercuryI. Check Mercury help (or the PDF manual) for information about local domains,relaying and network interfaces.</p><p>If problems persist it might be a good idea to check the MercuryS log to see what actually is happening. Temporarily switching on session logging will provide even more details.</p><p> </p>

Was genau soll ich ändern?

<p>It depends on how you want to use the server, which you haven't explained. If you want to use it to communicate publicly on the Internet you will need to fill in proper domain details. Mercury help has information about how this should look. If you only allow mail to be submitted from your own computer (on the 127.0.0.1 interface) but want it to be delivered externally you should review settings for relaying (allow relaying or use authentication). Für ein Login.</p><p>Kannst du mir Schritt für Schritt einzeln erklären was ich ändern muss, Ich kapiers einfach nicht?!</p><p>In der Anleitung find ich die Stelle wo das steht auch nicht und die Hilfefunktion funktioniert bei mir irgendwie nicht. </p>
