Even since an aborted attempt to install 4.70 (which I have now done), deleting or moving emails to folders now takes up to 30 seconds.  I have reindexed all folders, pruned some very old email, rebooted my computer (Server 2008 and Windows 7).  This seems to be happening to my account only and happens no matter which workstation I am on.

Thanks!

I have a very similar problem.

The program (v4.63) and all data is on our company Server and mapped as M:\

From my XP machine - message transfer between folders is fast

From my new Windows-7, 64-bit machine it goes at a snails pace.

Hope someone can offer an idea of what is going wrong.

Make sure you have a local printer set as your default printer, not a network location. The default plain text printer works well.

We are having similar issues to this and other related threads.

On any laptop we have (Win Vista or Win 7; Pegasus 4.63 or 4.7), whenever the Move button is hit, Pegasus freezes. Whenever the new mail Send button is hit, Pegasus freezes.

We have tried all the suggestions listed on the various threads, with no changes.

For example, PGP Key ID (RSA 2048): 0xC45D831B

PGP Plugin for Pegasus Mail: <http:></http:>

S/MIME Certificate Fingerprint: 26 5c a3 60 02 c6 e3 8a 75 70 d5 6a 67 ff d3 8d b0 b5 5e 5b

None of these lines appeared in our State.pmj; so we added them. No change. We have also attended to the other suggestions; no change.

This renders Pegasus totally inoperable for us. This is a new problem for us; we have been using Pegasus for years without issue.

If we hook up a second monitor to the laptop and use Pegasus there; then there is no problem; but we must use Pegasus when travelling and have no second monitor.

Please help !!

Thank you.

I don't think I understand what you were doing ... ?

This should give you a clue what is happening: Pegasus Mail opens a window outside of the screen, so this isn't a hang like the ones discussed in this thread. It is very likely to be caused by running the same copy of Pegasus Mail with multiple monitors first and then go back to a single monitor. Pegasus Mail stores its window positions and sizes in STATE.PMJ, the window referred to here is most probably Select a mail folder in the [SELFOL] section. If you close Pegasus Mail, then open this file with a plain text editor like (former) NotePad and remove the Select a mail folder line completely Pegasus Mail will show this dialog window in a default position after the restart when using the Move button next time.

PS: Here's another thread about this issue and pointing to more.

Thank you Michael. I guess we weren't fully understanding the previous threads on this issue and how the occasional 2nd monitor would affect future uses of Pegasus on the single laptop. Your explanations and examples were excellent; thank you for your patience on this matter and for continuing to provide us all with on-target replies so quickly.

Just on a whim, I went to the server and ran a pmail session.  Since then, I have noticed a measurable improvement in filing speeds while running it back on my workstation.  Anybody else?
