One thing I have noticed is that even when I configure outlook (or an android device) to leave a copy of the email on the server, it does not?

Mercury Version : 4.74

I am trying to send an email with 4.4Mb attachment... but Mercury fails to send almost immediately, complaining of a 501 Syntax error.
So I am guessing there is a file size limit although perusing the Mail Server settings for SMTP and General show no size limit criteria in evidence...?

(I note that when the mail message is returned to the administrator the actual mail message is over  6 Mb in size....?)

I hope someone can enlighten me with an idea how to overcome  please.

Turn on session logging in the relevant module (check which module windows shows the error).  By looking at the messages you should be able to see exactly what the problem is.
