WINPM-32.EXE process fails to unload upon normal exit of program. Process still running in task manager. Process must be ended before re-opening the program. After re-opening message says mailbox already open Continue (yes/no)

The fact that the executable is continuing suggests that another program is interacting with Pmail, not allowing it to close and the first thing that comes to mind is an AV program.
Do you have anything else running that might be interfering?
Verify that winsock loading in general, advanced is set to Always.
Do you have show fancy turned on and attempts to load graphics may still be trying to contact remote server URL but failing. Try with loading of graphics unchecked.
winsock is set to always, rich text is set to off. I did not have the problem until recently. I have used pegasus for years without problem. I love it , and encourage all my friends to use it as well! It must be something that was installed within the last month. I'll look there. I have used it along with Magic Mail Monitor for years.
I have noticed occasionally this problem that on opening PM it tells me the mailbox is open for another user "Continue" or "Cancel". I eventually realised that it appears to be because I had forgotten to exit/close PM before shutting the computer down. I just tell it to Continue and it opens normally.
