Dumping everything to a Word file?

MailStrip worked perfectly.  There's still a little cleanup needed, but it did strip the bulk of the distractions.  Thanks!!!

I have a need to copy the text and brief headers of several hundred emails to a Word or other text file.  (Legal thing... lawyer wants paper trail of all email conversations.)  Copy and paste doesn't get headers, and write to a file gets full headers plus attached files.  I think I can print to .pdf but then I need to merge all the separate files.  I can't find anything in the forums or online.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jim

A folder file (.PMM) is a plain text file so maybe you could do something with that?  Admittedly it contains complete message content which it sounds like you are trying reduce by eliminating some headers and attachments but it seems like the easiest way.  It surprises me that the expectation of a legal request would not be to include complete message content.

If you need to provide each message as an individual file there is a utility called NOTSPLIT which will break a .PMM file back into .CNM files.  You could then rename them to .TXT and provide.  Complete message content would remain though.

Hi Brian,

I'll eventually have to forward ALL of those emails to him but for now he wants a general "what's going on here and do we have a case" overview.  The difficulty comes with embedded HTML and multi-megabyte attachments.

But you have a good point.  Sending a text file with all everything included is a good way to preserve the headers that forwarding tends to obscure.  But for now what I need is a summary.

Thanks!

Jim
