16/32-bit NSYNONYM.EXE needed dor Server 2008 (32bit) or newer

We have moved Mercury from one Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) to 2008 (32-bit). Nsynonym.exe work there either. It could be related to the Netware Client with Vista/2008.

At the moment we still have a virtual machine with Windows XP where we can run a script to read the users from the NDS. That file SYNONYM.MER is generated and copied to the mail server.
Has anyone found a better solution to this problem?

If Mercury/32 would support Active Directory and Windows Users directories somewhen, this all would no longer be necessary...
Best wishes, Torsten

The only version of NSYNONYM.EXE (generate

synonym database for/from nds user objects) available is a 16bit program, which

cannot run on 64bit Windows systems. I need a version of nsynonym.exe compiled

as a 32bit program, so we can retire our old Windows Server 2003. Since Windows

Server 2003 is approaching it's end-of-life, this problem ist getting more

urgent every day.

The strange thing is, the new Mercury 4.80

beta actually contains a 32bit version of ch_syn.exe, which gerenates

synonyms from a Bindery database. Surely there are more NDS installations

than old NetWare Bindery setups using Mercury.

Greetings

Markus

[quote user="Sellerie"]Did you trial the one from 4.80beta?

I thought that I did test it and it is still the 16-bit version, but in fact there is no nsynonym.exe in the Mercury distribution at all (there is an fsynonym.exe, but no nsynonym.exe). I upgrade an older Mercury installation and the nsynonym.exe file I tested was the old one I put there myself.

David got in touch with me directly, he told me he might have an untested newer version.
