Any way to produce strikethrough text in Pegasus 4.7?

That's a great idea, Brian! Thank you! [:)] I feel a little "slow" that I had never thought of that before.

As for my recipients viewing HTML, that will be no problem, as they all use the University's full-featured web client (whose interface I hate, hence my clinging to Pegasus via IMAP - or I guess that should be "IMAP via Pegasus" - and I've kept my Pegasus set not to "generate multipart/alternative..." for years now without any negative feedback from recipients.

Seems like you've provided me with the best solution, as this will allow me to continue using my correction macro in Word, keeping the process efficient! [:D]

Thanks!!

Dave

Greetings all,

I've been a devoted Pegasus user for a long time, and I make use of all the enhanced text options. However, there is one that is apparently not available in Pegasus: strikethrough text. Is there any "secret way" to produce strikethrough in 4.7 (Build 546)? (Or did I perhaps miss an update?)

The reason I would like to have this option is that I teach English to non-native speakers, a great deal of it done via e-mail and attachments, and strickoutstrikethrough is a basic part of how I mark students' errors when I correct the homework that they send to me. As I show here, I follow the strikethrough with the correct English in blue italics; of course, if they send me a Word doc attachment, using strikethrough is not a problem - in fact, I have a one-click macro button that I created in Word to strike out an error that I've highlighted and reset the font to blue italics for the correction I will type in.

But it would be convenient if I could use strikethrough in any e-mail text they send as well, rather than converting their e-mail to a Word doc and then attaching the corrected doc to my reply to them.

TIA,

Dave

There is no way that I know of to create strikethrough from within Pegasus Mail but you don't need to attached a Word doc either.  You can copy the content of a message to a Word doc, do your edits, then copy the contents of the Word doc and paste it as formatted text into a new message or reply.  The only caveat is that the recipient must view the HTML version unless you turn off the "Generate multipart/alternative versions of richtext messages" option so that only an HTML version is sent.
