No body copy in incoming mail

I suspect there is something going on with the HTML part that is preventing it from being displayed as does Martin based on his request for a copy.  He is the one who can get the ball rolling on identifying the problem and troubleshooting the HTML renderers of Pegasus Mail if needed.

Hi, I'm having problems with some (Not all) incoming mail from both my website and Gmail. The mail downloads OK but message area is blank. I'm using XP professional. Any help would be much appreciated,

Thanks

Have you looked at the raw view to see if there is content?  Also check the Attachments tab and see what it shows.

Try viewing one of these messages via web access to your Gmail account to see what it looks like.

Hi Brian, Yes I can read them OK if I go direct into Gmail or my website no problem

My guess is that these are HTML only messages but you should confirm that by checking the attachment tab to see if it is greyed out and if not, open it to see what message formats are listed.

If HTML only then you need to start looking into the HTML renderers.

The first thing to do is to determine whether IERenderer is enabled and if so, what version you are running.  Let us know if you need assistance with how to do this.

Also valuable would be the version of Pegasus Mail you are running.

Well I'm not really into these technical things but The Pegasus version is 4.7

and the IErenderer is 2.4.9.2 hope that help!

Thanks

You didn't stay whether the problem messages are HTML only and that is important to insure we aren't troubleshooting the wrong thing.  Please let us know.

Sorry, when I click the attachment button it says

Plain Text   1.4

HTML text    4.1

not sure if this is what you need to know, if let me know what I need to look at, sorry

Good.  This tells us that the message is arriving with both plain text and HTML content.

Try this, open one of these messages then click the "View" button located in the toolbar of the message reader window and see if anything becomes visible.  The "View" button toggles between plain text and HTML.

Also, in your original post you said the message area is blank.  Do you see any grey boxes or is it all white space?

Could you send me a copy of one of these problem emails, and I will check its behaviour in Bearhtml (the alternate html renderer). Please forward a copy to irelam@telus.net, and if necessary I will forward it to the author of IERenderer too
