My wife cannot get into Pegasus..
Opens the prompt ..
enters username
then it seems to be opening
then it just stops. without opening

This seems to have started after trying to send a PDF.
when sending the PDF
it made the waiting timer.. it took too long ..she let it run.
when she returned to look at it.. it had stopped.

She tried to update the program. but she is still unable to open
Pegasus.

First, cold boot the PC. Do not just restart it. Shut it down, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on. If that does not work, answer these questions:

1. Does Pegasus Mail hang during startup requiring you to use task manager to close it.
2. Does Pegasus Mail display its splash screen and then it disappear without starting?
3. Provide the file path to the mailbox directory if you know it. If you do not know it, use a file explorer to navigate to the Pegasus Mail \Programs directory (the default is C:\PMAIL\Programs). Make a copy of the PMAIL.CFG file and paste it to a temporary location. Open that copy with a text editor like Notepad and include the path that you see in your reply. Open only the copy and not the original because the slightest modification will damage the file.
4. Is there a backup of Pegasus Mail and the mailbox directory from prior to when this problem started?

Not sure what it might be, but one thing to check is a corrupt CNM file.
Change to your wife's MAIL folder and see what .CNM files are in directory.
Would make a directory, and move and .CNM files out of mail directory.
Then see if Pegasus Opens. If it does, then may be a corrupt CNM file.

Generally, move the CNM files back to folder one by one and open PMAIL after each one. The last one that has it then fail would be the problem CNM. That is just an ideal?

Then there are .PMW files that are draft to send messages and .PMX files are ready to send messages.

Only other thing would be to check C:\TEMP for recent created files. Might also be in users TEMP directory?
