ahh - it was my error. I'm pretty sure the synonyms file was out of date, I replaced it with the latest one and everything is working as it should be. Thanks again for the help.

Hello

We use Pegasus Mail and Mecury32 to send mail in a Windows environment. We have approximately 30 client PC's and Both Mercury32 and the PEgasus mailboxes are located on a storage server.

I have set up synonyms by creating a text file and entering synonym@domain.com == Pegasus_Username. I then used the fsynonym.exe program in the Mercury folder to create a synonym.mer file. The synonym.mer file is saved in the Mercury32 installation folder and in the ..\pmail or ..\pmail\programs\ folder on each of the client PC's.

What is happening is just one of the users is unable to send mail. Mercury rejects the mail with 'job has invalid or illegal from address'. When I remove the synonym.mer file from that user's PC, mail is sent without error. I have checked the synonym.mer file (several times) and made sure that both the synonym address and the local Pegasus account name are correct.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Yes, turn on session logging to see exactly what is going on.  If this does not help you make the required correction the synonym file post that session log without any changes at all and maybe we can help.
