Pegasus Mail Suggestions
Add an RSS Reader into Pegasus -- please?

Yes I too would consider rss slightly out of the main purpose of Pegasus. In the same way I consider the newsgroups function in Thunderbird a bit quaint, and a copy from Outlook, which was already quaint enough, since it was not a plugin. For example you are proposed to create a newsgroup account each time you create a new mail account, which is always surprising.

A plugin is ok.

It would be so great if Pegasus could also serve as an RSS Reader, such as something as simple as the free FeedReader.com reader.

With email becomes less and less reliable due to all the reasons we know, having the RSS technology within the Pegasus mail reader would allow the user to only need one app to communicate (at least receive RSS and blog updates, etc).

I hope to see it soon.

Hi !

I think Pegasus Mail should focus exclusively on emails and not become something like Thunderbird which in a few years will even be able to serve coffee. Now concerning your wish about RSS reader, it exists already, it is a plug-in written by Martin Ireland which you can find on his website, that is : http://www3.telus.net/public/irelam/ . By using plug-ins to add further functionality besides managing emails, everyone is happy.

Bye !

Ginhead.

Martin's RSSMail is a great program for people that want RSS feeds in Pegasus Mail. It can deliver feeds with each item as a separate message, or and entire field combined into a single message. As with all of Mertin's great Pegasus Mail add-ons, its free.

Another vote for Martin's RSS reader.  It's now a 'must have' for me.  Of course it delivers the feeds as emails and not in a browser-based format, but that's exactly what I want.

I agree with Ginhead.  The great thing about Pegasus is that it does one thing and it does it very well.  I don't need Pegasus to be an RSS reader or a news reader or a coffee maker. I just want it to handle my email, which it does a very good job of.

FYI   I have the Html version of RssMail, it is called RssHtml. It creates the html stream version of the RSS feed, and places it anywhere on my pc. I then point a shortcut at it, and double clicking it invokes my browser, Firefox.  The utility is on my website http://www3.telus.net/public/irelam/   I have not put it in this community area as it is not a Pegasus Mail add-on
