Pegasus stalls while applying mail filtering rules

Thomas,

You my friend are absolutely awsome!  So far so good still working my way through the messages but I have regained all my folders and can get in to them... much further than I was without your help.

Thank You Soooooo Much.

All of this started after a failed attempt on an outgoing mail message.

In the past when this has happened I was able to delete a single file, and no worries.  I can't remember the file type that was the culprit. At this point I've tried too many different files to identify the ones from the time that it occured. any help would be great, I've been a very satisfied user of Pegasus and only Pegasus since the late 90's.  At this time I'm using a secondary mail ID I created, but seriously need access to the multiple folders in the primary account.

I've also tried rewriting the state.pmj file to get it to go back to default, with no change.

Help! any suggestions and I'll try em

Probably a really big one as well and you got a bounce from the server in your new mail directory.

Move all of the *.CNM files out of the new mail directory and try again.  It should now open normally.  You can then put the messages back one at a time until you find the problem message.

It's probaby going to be a really large message.  If you are using content control then I'd recommend that you set a limit on the message size so you are not scanning these large files with encoded attachments.

1.    Use  Tools | Spam and content controls | Content control...

2.    Select and edit the control definition

3.    Select the "Message tests" tab.

4.    Enter 8000 in "Check at most this many bytes in each message"
