I recently downloaded and installed the Mercury mail platform trying to set up a mailing system for my web server at home. I was easily able to configure it to receive mail using thunderbird. I was also able to easily configure it to send emails to my work account. But when trying to send to my personal accounts (gmail, hotmail, yahoo) I was unable to send mail. Here is the error I am getting when trying to send to gmail:

Anyone able to give me some ideas?
I am using modules S,E, & P
The IP addresses are valid, turn on session logging and you might be able to determine why the server is rejecting the connection. They in fact be rejecting on the fact that you do not have a fixed IP address.

Anyway to correct this? My ISP does not offer fixed IPs to customers, therefore I am using dnsExit to keep track of my IP.

Use MercuryC and send via your ISPs SMTP host.
I changed from MercuryE to MercuryC. Restarted the software, and configured it to use my ISPs SMTP server utilizing my login name. It will send to my work account, but gmail, hotmail, yahoo, and several others still will not receive mail from me.
Sorry for taking so long to reply. Been very busy at work. Anyways,, here is the error message copied from the error email.

Is this coming from your relay host? If so turn on ESMTP authorization in MercuryC. Also turn on session logging in MercuryC to verify your are properly sending the mail to the relay host.

You Internet provider's SMTP server requires authentication for sending to non-local recipients, and apparently the provided AUTH LOGIN wasn't satisfactory for this. You could try the other method in MercuryC configuration (authenticate via prior POP3 connection) instead, as suggested in the 550 reply message.
/Rolf
You got a successful ESMTP Authorization and still it would not allow you to relay. Personally I'd pass this section of the session log to the ISP and ask them what ia going on.
