there has been no attempt to access the server on XP!</p><p>I switched off the windows firewall on XP and still no joy.  Don't have any other protection other than my Firewalled router but that can't be the problem as both machines use it AND it also fails on a public machine at the local leisure centre.  Only things in common are that they are both XP machines and both on a wireless link?</p><p>Yes it is the same VPN client, the only one allowed by NHS mail, you'd really think it was a secret Governent operation..oh wait a minute it is :)  But, same client and there are no configurations allowed just my login name and password.  It's a client by Whale Communications.</p><p>This is not desperate as I can access the same account using Internet Explorer web mail (Imagine <p>Dear Pegasus users,</p><p>I have used this forum to help me install Pegasus for windows on to a USB drive.  The machine I used to do the setup is running Vista.  I need Peagsus to access the NHS mail system in the U.K. using a secure VPN tunnel with ssl.  The only other client that works is Outlook :(</p><p>The VPN client is setup using Internet Explorer and Pegasus works perfectly when installed on the Windows machine AND when run from the USB stick on the Vista machine, i.e. to all intents and purposes the setup I was looking for worked.  Then I tried it on a different machine!!  What a disappointment it fails to connect and I can't work ut why?  Incidentally I am using IMAP to connect to the NHS server</p><p>The other machine is running Windows XP.  The VPN client installs and runs and I can access the NHS mail site using Outlook Express but Pegasus fails to connect and gives me very little in the way of clues as to why?   I also have another IMAP box setup for my personal mail and, strangely, that fails to connect also but only once the VPN client/tunnel is active.  So, for some reason, on a different computer the setup fails and it appears to be due to the VPN client.</p><p>Very complex I think but anyone recognise something I may be missing?</p><p> </p><p>Thanks for any help and also for being Pegasus fans :)</p><p> </p><p>James </p>

<P>If you turn on 'Internet Session logs' (Tools / Internet option, then mark the checkbox at the foot of the General tab) you will get detailed logs showing the connection attempt and hopefully why it failed.  The logs are named TCPnnnn.WPM, where nnnn is a number.  (If you need to paste any here, please remove the password.)</P> <P mce_keep="true"> </P>

<P>The VPN tunnel that you use would be different to the SSL connection that you are attempting to to the IMAP server.  I don't know why you can't connect on the XP machine, but the log suggests you aren't reaching the server.  If you do the same thing on the Vista pc, the log will show that.</P> <P>Are both machines using the same VPN tunnel?  I would double-check that all options are configured the same and that any firewalls have Pegasus Mail allowed.</P> <P mce_keep="true"> </P>
