Have you tried Copy or Move on a selected set of messages?   Have you tried Trays and Folders for filings?

I haven't seen a recent post on this, but I would love to permanently turn off Preview Mode.  While it's kind of nice to see the start of an email, I find I'm never satisfied with the window size and keep resizing it.  It is also painfully slow when you just want to scroll through emails only to have it hang up to load them.

Just click the fifth button from the left and you're done.
