Have not had a problem since 007-great program!!!

Noiw, however I get this when trying to download new mail:

Bad address "pop.west.cox.ne".

Notice the last word shoudl be .net, the t is left off therefore I get the bad address error.

Can you help me?

Please send reply to tonyaz12@cox.net (this address still works?)

Go Tools -> Internet options -> receiving mail, click the definition and click edit. In there make sure the settings are ok.

First I get "Mailbox locked." I click continue and it hangs at "opening new mail folder." Eventually I push control alternate delete and I get winpmmiall not responding.

Any suggestions??

There could be a corrupted new mail.

Try moving all .CNM files from your mail directory to somewhere else.

You should be able to start Pegasus again.

Move the .CNM files back, one by one.

The one that hangs/crashes Pegasus is the bad one (probably spam)

You can find out where your mail is via:

Tools | Options | Mailbox location

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Arthur

Move all of the *.CNM files out of the new mail directory and try again.  It should now open normally.  You can then put the messages back one at a time until you find the problem message.

It's probaby going to be a really large message.  If you are using content control then I'd recommend that you set a limit on the message size so you are not scanning these large files with encoded attachments.

1.    Use  Tools | Spam and content controls | Content control...

2.    Select and edit the control definition

3.    Select the "Message tests" tab.

4.    Enter 8000 in "Check at most this many bytes in each message"

Try leaving it for a protracted period (at least an hour). Does it *eventually* start up?

The key issue here is to work out whether it's actually hung, or whether something is simply taking a very, very long time.

Cheers!

Thank you for responding David.

I do leave it for a time however then I get the notice that the program is not responding.

At the time I was sending a rather large spreadsheet and then ---nothing.

Any other ideas??

thank you again,Tony

Leave it even longer.  That said since  you were sending a really large file you might also go through your mailbox directory looking for really large files with the PMW and PMX file extension.  Personally though this sounds like a bounce message with the CNM file extension.  Are you sure  you've moved all of the CNM files out of the mailbox directory?
