You can select all of the mail message and then forward them to yourself as a digest. You set a subject that matches and now all of this is in one message.  That said, most of us simply create a folder and put all of the mail on a specific subject/customer/identity into that folder and then attach a matching identity to that folder.

Thanks for the quick replies, guys.

The updated BearHTML solved the crash problem, but neither this nor the switch to native english solved the document left margin switching.

However, I found the solution : I had to increase the message width setting in the Preferences from its default 145 mm to a wider setting.

I raised it to 200.

It could have been lower than that, but 200 seemed fine.

Best regards!

Merci beaucoup!

François

Thanks for the help. I had dropped to 0 space on this 2 gig partition. I hadn't realized that Pegasus needed to write to the drive when compressing, so the folders wouldn't compress which consumed more space yet which I didn't have. I finally deleted messages directly from the folder panes instead of the message preview pane and made sure I had unchecked the preserve deleted messages until close button. I now have 230 MB free. Problem was caused by some friends who like to send me large videos and photos, easier to delete than threaten an otherwise good friendship. thanks for your help much.

I resolved this yesterday by using a backup copy of the files and inspecting them, vis-a-vis the presumably damaged copies of the corresponding files, with a file comparison tool. I could then manually make the changes hilighted in the change tool. Why would these files become corrupt? I'm so glad I maintain regular multi-version backups!

Thanks Thomas and J

I have opted at the last minute to install Windows XP Pro on a partitioned hard drive on the system as well, to have it able to dual boot. This is just to be able to run hardware that will not have updated drivers, such as my Imacon scanner. I am glad that we did not decide to build as the techs who are constructing it are having a bit of a problem installing it to dual boot on a system with a RAID 0 drive setup as well as other drives. (Don't worry, I know that the RAID 0 is completely unsafe, which is why there are other drives to backup the data. These are just for PS files that I am working on with multiple layers at 16 bit that sometimes exceed 1.4 GB. The captures are 364 MB alone, so it is easy to get up to that size when you add a few adjustment layers.)

I will see about VMWare, thanks, too.

I was having trouble sending  to a IN mail address and I could not send mail without a MHS Overide?

This mean you have not setup a mail queue.  When running standalone yuo need to go to Tools | Internet options and setup the SMTP and general sections at least.

I

I went into Options, Basic Settings and ticked

"Ask Netware password at Start-up", the mail went out but now I have been 'locked-out' of my mailbox as it is asking for a Netware Password

Do you have Netware?  Why did you set this?  You will have to edit the pmail.ini  and change the following line from Y to N.

Require password at startup               = N

which I had not set 1 when I try to change 'user'  ( I have 5 users set-up on mu computer and I can access the other 4 users OK).

Can you advise how I can access this 'user'?

This graphic does not help all that much.  I'd prefer to see the actual raw view of the headers showing the entire receiving process.  The wrapping as shown in the actual message reader is not important;  the data in the RFC 2822 message though is important. FWIW, I get mail from Outlook all the time via Exchange and I've never seen this happen.  I suspect though that there is something in the SMTP sending/receiving process that is breaking the message.  Many of the anti-spam/virus proxies could cause an improperbrak like this as well.

David Harris has implemented ESMTP AUTH CRAM-MD5 for WinPMail, Mercury and Mercury/32.  They do a SMTP authentication in accordance with RFCs 2554 and 2195.  Mercury and Mercury/32 also do the LOGIN and the strange MS AUTH=LOGIN.

Go to File | Network configuration | (Sending) SMTP, edit the SMTP setup, select the "Security" tab and select one of the 3 options for doing SMTP Authorization.

I have been a PM user since back when Windoze 3.1 was invented and I

have always had a window that showed only the new mail window when PM

started. I can work through the new mail folder, double click to open a

message in a new window on top of the new mail window, close it and be

back in the new mail. If I single click, the message does not open, it

is just selected and highlighted.

When setting up new versions,

they have just taken on this same setup and continued to be the same.

However,  when I set up PM on another computer, it comes up with a

three pane window that looks like (excuse my foul language) Outlook. I

have tried using the windows, tile and cascade, and that does not do

anything good.

How can I get the new setups on the other computers to work like mine does? Thank you kindly for any help you can give.

1.    Uncheck Tools | Options | Preview mode "Ctrl+W activates the preview and selects the new mail folder "

2.    Hit the "LIST" button in the folder view.

Hi,

I am trying to set up Pegasus for the first time.  I have read the manual and searched the faqs and I cannot find anything about the first step, i.e.how to configure My Mailbox to connect to my server.  I cannot find any way to do anything with My Mailbox.  The first thing I need to do to use Pegasus is connect.  Can anyone help???

 Thanks,

 Dick Roose

Not sure exactly what you mean.  If you are using POP3 then Tools | Internet options will allow you to setup your POP3 and SMTP  servers.  If you are using IMAP4 you use Tools | IMAP profiles to create the IMAP4 connection.

Thomas,

You my friend are absolutely awsome!  So far so good still working my way through the messages but I have regained all my folders and can get in to them... much further than I was without your help.

Thank You Soooooo Much.

Question: where does SPAMBUST.DAT fit in? There's one in my main mail folder (C:|Pmail\Sleads), but it's several years old, and another in C:\Pmail\Resource dated two months ago -- that's when I first enabled Spamhalter. Now it works, but the file doesn't seem to have changed.

[/quote]

Spambust.dat is used with Content Control.  Has nothing to do with Spamhalter.

I thought that a mail merge could not contain attachments.  How is this done?  I'd like to put some photos in a mail merge format file.  Is this possible?  How?

I found it - It's a tab right on the new message window.  This post can be deleted.

Thanks, great idea and it worked fine!
It was a bit of a déjà vu experience ... It took more than 2 minutes to load the folder tree (900+) but it did the job. It must have done some changes to some files as starting version 4.41 again reminded me that I have used an older version of PM :-) From what I could see no damages though only a few minor settings changed (fonts) etc. (really amazing) so, I just replaced my data with the backup copy after the exercise, saves searching for all the little switches.
However, I am impressed as
(1) I do not believe that one could do this (role back to an older version, several versions older) with many other email programs - try it with outlook ;-)
(2) Version 4.41 is really a lot faster (about 5 times - wild guess)

I am looking forward to the next version !! ... 4.50 or even 5.0? [ip]

Thanks

Thomas

I found the mail. I was actually in my SPF folder and not in the inbox. For some reason a filesystem scan didn't show the mail.

Sorry for the false alert.
